I need to relax in front of Joost after a hard week with annoying teenage pupils. I've almost ripped all my hair off.

Hi Brian,
I understand Greg a fellow Jooster has already sent you a token. I hope the lecture goes well and I'm sure unveiling Joost to your audience will be amazing (I would love to see a video of the audience reaction to the first glimpse of Joost and what it can do)
Regards
Fraser The Jooster

Joost takes the moral high ground on content deals

Viacom MTV, Comedy Central, VH1 ...quality content....

The two internet entrepreneurs Frijs and Zennstrom say their rebel and lawsuit-tinged past led to their ethical content policy at Joost IPTV.

Joost recently partnered with New York-based Viacom and French based i-concerts, both organisations that respect the artists rights, and are exploiting the new and emerging digital distribution platforms on their behalf.

The founders of Joost, Friis' and Zennstrom's former Internet company, the file-sharing service, Kazaa, pushed legal boundaries and resulted in the music and movie industries aggressively suing the company. Selling Kazaa didn't end troubles for Friis, a Dane, and Zennstrom, a Swede, who didn't enter the United States for years because of the lawsuits filed against them.
In November, Kazaa's new owners settled the last of the suits agreeing to pay at least $125 million to the record industry and movie studios.

i-concerts - up to 20 hours of fresh programing

Joost has reached agreements to download programs from Viacom networks such as MTV, Comedy Central and VH1. While the deal's terms were not disclosed, Viacom and Joost will share advertising revenue. Zennstrom said to the New York Times:

"The reason we're doing this is because of our history," Janus Friis told The New York Times. "We know how these things work. And above all, we know that we don't want to be in a long, multiyear litigation battle."

Joost to feature Marley and B.B King in content deal with i-concerts

i-concerts™opens to artists a new stage for reaching their fans, controlling their live media rights, and benefiting from all existing and emerging digital distribution platforms.

i-concerts™ is a new broadband and wireless syndication platform for the video-on-demand distribution of concerts and live music programming.

LONDON, February 28: The music VOD service i-concerts has secured a U.K. distribution deal making its programming available on the upcoming global broadband content platform Joost.

Joost will feature approximately 20 hours of i-concerts programming that will be refreshed regularly. The content will cover all genres of music and include performances from artists such as Bob Marley, New York Dolls, B.B. King and Andrea Bocelli, as well as multi-artist live shows such as London Live (aka The Album Chart Show). The i-concerts channel will also serve as a showcase for the wider i-concerts catalogue that is already available extensively on a series of IPTV and VOD platforms across Europe.

Founded in June 2005, i-concerts is carried in France by Free Telecom and Club Internet (T-Online France) as a broadband PC VOD service. i-concerts has also signed distribution agreements with Belgian cable operator Telenet and BT Vision in the U.K.

“i-concerts is a terrific addition to our growing music offering,” said Yvette Alberdingkthijm, the EVP of content strategy and acquisition for Joost. “Joost enables music labels and properties like i-concerts to find new fans and connect on a deeper level with existing fans.”
